Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to your information when you join The Blueprint waitlist at diyinvestments.co.za. We’ve kept it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
The Blueprint is run by Alexander Koshkin (the “responsible party” under the Protection of Personal Information Act, POPIA).

What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- When and how you confirmed it. Our email provider records the date, time and IP address of your sign-up and confirmation, as proof that you asked to join.
- Whether you agreed to help us reach people like you (the optional tick box under the sign-up form), and when.
- How you use this page, only if you accept analytics cookies. For example, which sections you view, which buttons you click, and whether you use the quick check. This is linked to a random ID in a cookie, not to your name or email.
We don’t ask for your name, phone number or anything about your finances on this site. The quick check runs in your browser. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records only which button you press (“I know” or “Not really”), linked to the random cookie ID, never to your name or email.
Why we collect it
Your email: to tell you when The Blueprint opens, and occasionally before that with short updates about the launch. We never sell or rent it.
If you tick the optional box: to find people with similar interests on social media and show them our ads (see “Reaching people like you” below). We don’t use your email for anything else.
Analytics (if you accept): to see which parts of the page help people and which don’t, so we can improve it.
Your consent
You join only by entering your email and then clicking the link in our confirmation email. You can withdraw that consent at any time: use the unsubscribe link in any email, or write to [email protected].
Agreeing to the lookalike use is separate and optional. The box is unticked, and you can join the waitlist without it. You can withdraw it at any time by writing to [email protected]; unsubscribing withdraws it too.
Reaching people like you (only if you tick the box)
If you agree, we upload your email address to Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (Google Ads) and LinkedIn, so they can show our ads to people with similar interests (“lookalike audiences”). Before upload, your email is turned into a scrambled code (“hashed”), so the platform can only match it against people who already have an account with them. Unmatched codes are discarded by the platform. The platforms don’t tell us who matched, and we don’t receive any information about your account. They process this data outside South Africa, mainly in the USA and Europe, under their own data-protection terms. If you withdraw, we remove you from future uploads and from the existing audiences within 30 days.
Who else handles it
- MailerLite (MailerLite, Inc.) stores the waitlist and sends our emails. MailerLite keeps its data in the European Union. Because this means your email is stored outside South Africa, we use a provider bound by data-protection rules at least as strong as POPIA, and you agree to this transfer when you sign up.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and delivers it securely. Like any web host, it briefly processes technical data such as your IP address to serve the page and block attacks.
- Meta, Google Ads and LinkedIn, only if you tick the lookalike box, receive your hashed email as described in “Reaching people like you”.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC, USA), only if you accept analytics cookies, tells us how the page is used so we can improve it. Google processes this data, including your IP address, outside South Africa, under its own data-protection terms. Analytics isn’t used for advertising, and we never send your email address to Google Analytics. (If you tick the lookalike box, your hashed email goes to Google Ads, as explained above.)
Cookies
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. If you decline, Google Analytics doesn’t set cookies or record your visit in detail. You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. We don’t place advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site.
How long we keep it
Your email: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we decide not to launch, whichever comes first. Analytics data: 14 months, then Google deletes it automatically. Lookalike uploads: until you withdraw or unsubscribe; we refresh the uploaded lists from time to time and leave out anyone who has withdrawn.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information, and you can object to us using it. Email [email protected] and we’ll respond within 30 days.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa: inforegulator.org.za · [email protected].
Changes
If we change this notice in a way that matters, for example when the full product launches, we’ll update this page and email everyone on the list.
